Install Ubuntu 10.04 LS on your Laptop/Desktop -- It rocks !!

I have been using Fedora on my desktop at my Office from almost 2 years. I have enjoyed working on Fedora platform as it has got moderate GUI and most of the desktop specific software packages.

Recently I bought a brand new Inspiron Dell laptop and tried installing Fedora 12 on it. After installation I found many of the function keys of my laptop were not functioning. I could not increase/decrease laptop brightness, could not switch on bluetooth through shortcut function keys, could not check status of battery, could not increase/decrease volume etc. Then I came to know that I have to wait for the release of drivers for my new laptop model.

Then I started checking out my luck with Ubuntu 10.04 LS by creating a dual partition. Installation media was just around 700 MB which installed most of the software packages which any user requires on a laptop. This time my function keys started working. Also the GUI of Ubuntu is excellent when compared to Fedora 12 and its very user friendly. Ubuntu is connected with more software repositories, an internet connection will make your life easy with Ubuntu.

So, Just give a try to install and use Ubuntu today itself. You may download it here

All the Best
